How To Summit An 8,000m Peak In Two Weeks | Lightning Ascent of Cho Oyo
In October of 2016 Emily Harrington and Adrian Ballinger summited Cho Oyu (8,188m) the 6th tallest peak in the world in less than 2 weeks. Never before has a summit of over 8,000m been accomplished in less than a month. This duo managed a 14-day, door-to-door trek from their home in Lake Tahoe to the border of Tibet and Nepal.

In this video from Hiball Energy, produced by Louder Than 11 we get to take a look at what it takes to train for such a incredible feat. Harrington and Ballinger spent months acclimatizing to higher altitudes by training with less oxygen and sleeping in hyperbolic chambers all from the "comfort" of their home. The preparation paid off as the two sent snapchats from the summit overlooking the Himalayas not more than ten days after departing U.S. soil.
