First Permanent Deep Water Solo Climbing Wall Now Open In North Carolina
The climbing walls range from 25 to 45 feet tall and extend over a 20-foot-deep pool.
This wall will act as home to multiple DWS climbing competitions held over the course of the next six months, including a two-day event at the Tuckfest Outdoor Festival on April 21-22 that will be streamed LIVE only on FloClimbing.com!
This will be the christening comp on the new wall held smack-dab in the middle of three full days of music, fun, and water sports. With a $15K cash purse to give out to competitors, this event will be massive. Climbers will go head to head on the main wall until a champion is crowned.
While there have been other DWS comps in the U.S., such as the Psicobloc held in Park City, Utah, this is the only wall that is permanent throughout the year and open to the public. With the growing popularity of both rock climbing and the excitement of DWS competitions, this facility could become the new deep water solo hub of the entire country.
