Climbers Rescued After Four Hours Of Dangling At 200 Feet
Just before the new year, two climbers found themselves stuck over 200 feet above the ground while rappelling in Snow Canyon State Park, Utah. Two high-angle rope rescue teams were paged and responded just after 4 PM on Dec. 29 when a distress call came in reporting that two climbers were trapped after their ropes had become tangled.

The climbers were located on the middle of the bluff on the northeast side of the Pygmy Alien, located in the middle of Circus Wall, which is a part of the Island in the Sky formation in the park.

While the rescue team was en route, another pair of climbers noticed the party in distress and attempted to help from above. After locating and untangling the ropes, the trapped climbers were able to pull the ropes free just as the rescue team arrived.

After four hours of hanging by an anchor, the climbers were able to complete their rappel to the ground healthy and uninjured.
