Best Bouldering Competitions in November

Best Bouldering Competitions of November
It's November, best known for turkey, lots of dudes growing out mustaches, and bouldering comps! We're breaking down the best of the best this month that you don't want to miss.

The Brawl: Tri State Bouldering Series

November 12 | New Jersey Rock Gym | Fairfield, NJ

This is the first stop on Season 2 of the Tri State Bouldering Series (TBS). This is a multi-gym collaboration that showcases four competitions at different locations, allowing you to experience the best of the Northeast. The winner of each of the initial three comps gets an automatic bye into the open finals of the championship round. This is sure to attract the attention of some high-profile climbers. Here is an Instagram post from Ashima Shiraishi competing in the finals last year:

Mesa Rim ProAm

November 12 | Mesa Rim Climbing and Fitness | San Diego, CA

West Coast mentality meets national-level climbing competition, the Mesa Rim ProAm is the second stop on the USAC Bouldering National Cup Series. If the first round at the Yank N Yard was any indication, this event is going to be massive. Alex Puccio and Shawn Raboutou took the top spots, ranking them No. 1 in the country. Add a $10,000 cash purse on top of the new ranking system and you've got a recipe for an epic showdown.

Triple Crown 3: HP40

November 19 | Horse Pens 40 | Steele, AL

For those of you who have been living under rocks rather than climbing on them, the Triple Crown is the most coveted outdoor bouldering series in the country. The third and final event is at Horse Pens 40, the premier rock stop in the South. Every competition in the series also helps raise funds for two organizations dedicated to maintaining climbers' access: the Southeastern Climbers Coalition and the Carolina Climbers Coalition. In the past, this round has drawn the largest crowds looking for an opportunity to climb in prime conditions on the area's beautiful slopey features.

Dark Horse Bouldering Series Round 2

November 19 | MetroRock Climbing Center | Newburyport, MA

The Dark Horse is off to a great start in it's eighth season. On the first stop in mid-October, a massive crowd of climbers and spectators made their way to the Green Mountains of Vermont. Young rock stars Kai Lightner and Kyra Condie took first place over a stacked field of competitors. Since the winners of each round get a bye to the open finals of the championship round in January, more of the industry's elite are sure to show up and throw down. FloClimbing is scheduled to live-stream Round 3 on Dec. 17 and the series championship in January. Make sure to head out to this next stop to find out what the hype is all about.
